============================================================================== Allegro 4.0.1 Slackware packages (Mar 19 2002) notes ============================================================================== Packaged by Stepan Roh This README is stored in allegro and allegro-nox packages as file named /usr/doc/allegro-4.0.1/SLACKWARE_PACKAGE. These packages were built on Slackware 8.0. They won't work on previous versions of Slackware as distribution changed a lot between 7.1 and 8.0. Package descriptions are stored only in .txt files (not inside package which works only with Slackware-current). Download them as well. Installation ------------ Following packages are offered: allegro-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz all libraries and documentation allegro-nox-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz all libraries and documentation without support for X Window System allegro-lib-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz only standard shared library allegro-lib-nox-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz only standard shared library without support for X Window System Only one package is needed. Allegro-lib packages contain only standard shared library and nothing else (no documentation, no header files, no README) and are useful only for running precompiled programs. Non-nox packages require X Window System to be installed and can't be used without it. Everything is installed under /usr hierarchy. Template for allegro.cfg is placed into /usr/doc/allegro-4.0.1. Installation (for upgrade see following chapter) is done with command (run it as root): installpkg For example: installpkg allegro-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz Upgrade from previous package version ------------------------------------- For Slackware 8.0 users: Execute as root: upgradepkg % For example: upgradepkg allegro-4.0.0-i386-1.tgz%allegro-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz For Slackware-current users: Just execute as root: upgradepkg For example: upgradepkg allegro-4.0.1-i386-1.tgz Notes ----- ALSA and ESD drivers are not included. Fbcon driver was compiled against kernel version 2.4.14 and was not tested. Bugs and suggestions -------------------- Any questions or bugs regarding Slackware packages should be mailed to slack-allegro@srnet.cz. See http://alleg.sf.net for further information on Allegro.
