============================================================================== Allegro 4.0.3 Slackware packages (Apr 20 2003) notes ============================================================================== Packaged by Stepan Roh This README is stored in allegro and allegro-nox packages as file named /usr/doc/allegro-4.0.3/README.slackware These packages were built on Slackware 8.1. They may not work on previous versions of Slackware. Installation ------------ Following packages are offered (download them from http://srnet.cz/~stepan/slack/): allegro-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz all libraries and documentation allegro-nox-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz all libraries and documentation without support for X Window System allegro-lib-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz only standard shared library allegro-lib-nox-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz only standard shared library without support for X Window System Only one package is needed. Allegro-lib packages contain only standard shared library and nothing else (no documentation, no header files, no README) and are useful only for running precompiled programs. Non-nox packages require X Window System to be installed and can't be used without it. Programs and games intended for distribution should be compiled against non-nox packages. Everything is installed under /usr hierarchy. Template for allegro.cfg is placed into /usr/doc/allegro-4.0.3. Installation (for upgrade see following chapter) is done with command (run it as root): installpkg For example: installpkg allegro-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz Upgrade from previous package version ------------------------------------- Execute as root: upgradepkg For example: upgradepkg allegro-4.0.3-i386-1.tgz Notes ----- ALSA drivers are not included. Fbcon driver was compiled against kernel version 2.4.18 and was not tested. Bugs and suggestions -------------------- Any questions or bugs regarding Slackware packages should be mailed to slack-allegro@srnet.cz. See http://alleg.sf.net for further information on Allegro.
